About Mckenna Maria Murphy

Mckenna Maria Murphy is an 8 year old SCT athlete who has been playing soccer since she was 3 1/2 years old. She has a very energetic and positive personality that always brings a smile to the faces of the people around her. Even though she loves to sing and dance while having fun with her friends she also has the work ethic of a responsible student and gets very good grades in school.

Mckenna plays for the U-9 Slammers and has been training with So Cal Training for this past season. Her high work rate and skill development have earned her the honor of the SCT Player of the Month for April 2009!

Mckenna has improved dramatically in several different parts of her game. Technically she looks much more comfortable while handling the ball, her passing/shooting has become more accurate and powerful, and she has no fear when she is required to receive the ball out of the air with any body part necessary. Tactically Mckenna has made major strides proving to us that she understands positioning on the field, spaces to make runs into, and when to communicate runs with her teammates. These are all major accomplishments for any player especially one of her age.

The So Cal Training staff is most proud of Mckenna for the drive that she shows during training. She is the type of player all coaches would love to have on their team because she sets the example of taking training seriously and applying it to game situations. She also has set the example that if you work hard you can see massive improvements so congratulations Mckenna Murphy! SCT is appreciative that they get to work with you!
